Unforgettable Miss Bessie- Carl T. Rowan

After doing Caribbean Civilization I have a new found love for history. Although black history was unfortunately sad I enjoyed reading about it, because some blacks have evolved and are not in the same situation today. Poverty is still common with black people but it is not as bad. We have evolved a bit. Although discrimination is still taking place; we are able to share space with the whites, to obtain certain opportunities and make a living for our self. That is because of people like Ms Bessie. Their words of wisdom encouraged the young black folks to focus on what's important, that is the brain rather than material things.
